Backend Engineer (Node/ AWS) - Leading Entertainment Company - New Team + Greenfield Project!

One of our key clients (A commerce driven tech company in the entertainment space) are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a BRAND NEW TEAM being tasked with building an exciting new greenfield initiative!

The team will be around 7 people and include 1 x EM, 1 x Lead Engineer + 3 x Software Engineers

Everything is greenfield and a chance to work on some really innovative work for the business...

Everything will be linked with their high‑scale and high‑traffic transactional platform with a global customer base.

This is a chance to join one of their product‑led engineering squads, working on services that sit right at the heart of a complex, event‑driven architecture.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, delivery, and other engineers to ship changes that are seen and felt immediately by customers.

What you’ll be working on

• Building backend services in Node.js and TypeScript
• Developing serverless systems using AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, eventing services)
• Working with event‑driven architectures to support transactional and real‑time flows
• Building and evolving APIs used by multiple internal and external consumers
• Improving resilience, observability, and performance in high‑load environments
• Contributing to technical decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvement within your squad

What they're looking for - a MID LEVEL ENGINEER (Backend focused)

• Strong grounding in Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience working with AWS/ Serverless/ Lambda
• SNS, SQS, EventBridge
• Comfortable building and consuming APIs
• Familiarity with event‑driven systems or asynchronous messaging
• DynamoDB
• Microservices

Nice to have (but not essential)

• React.js/ Next
