Engineering Manager, Platform

This role leads a high-performing engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based SaaS products. You will oversee project planning, task delegation, and execution while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where technology meets real-world business challenges. Accountabilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, ensuring excellence in SaaS product delivery and adherence to technical standards
• Define project requirements, develop schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor progress to meet goals
• Facilitate cross-team communication, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
• Identify technical, personnel, and project-related risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Prepare progress reports and present updates to leadership and relevant stakeholders
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, providing mentorship and support for career development

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
• Proven experience leading, managing, and scaling engineering teams in SaaS or cloud-based environments
• Hands-on technical expertise in software development with experience in Kotlin, Java, C#, and Python
• Proficiency in API and data model design, cloud architecture, and secure software development practices
• Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects using Agile or hybrid methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to address complex technical and team challenges

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with feature/release toggles, third-party component selection, and operational leverage
• CI/CD pipeline development and testing strategies
• NoSQL databases, data caching, and non-relational data storage technologies
• Federated GraphQL, messaging and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), event-driven architecture principles
• Protobuf and gRPC for efficient service interface definition and data serialization
