Data Engineer

Data Engineer (contract/freelance)

• Join a high‑performing Data Engineering team building scalable, cloud‑native data platforms.
• Work on end‑to‑end data pipelines powering analytics, ML, and real‑time decisioning.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Architects, and Product teams to deliver high‑value data solutions.

Remit

• Design, build, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines across large‑scale datasets.
• Develop robust data models, schemas, and storage layers.
• Implement data quality, validation, and governance best practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve pipeline performance and reliability.

Skills

• Strong experience with Python and/or Scala for data engineering.
• Hands‑on with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Proficient in SQL and distributed data processing (Spark, Databricks, EMR, Dataflow, Synapse, BigQuery, etc.).
• Experience with data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, dbt, Luigi).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data architecture, and best‑practice engineering principles.
• Experience working in agile, product‑driven environments.

Good to have

• Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
• Experience supporting machine learning pipelines.
• Knowledge of DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
