Principal Product Manager - Geoscience
Job Description
Posted on: January 8, 2026
This role can be based on the East Coast of Australia or the West Coast of the US/Canada with remote first working.
Fleet Space is revolutionising how the world discovers critical minerals and we're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our geoscience product portfolio, working at the intersection of space technology, AI, and advanced mineral exploration.
You'll be driving the strategy and roadmap for products that help explorers see beneath the Earth's surface in ways never before possible, powered by satellite-enabled seismic technology and machine learning. If you've ever wanted your product decisions to directly impact how humanity finds the resources needed for a sustainable future, this is it.
This role reports to our Chief Product Officer, and work closely with other Product managers, Technical Program Managers, Technical Leads, Sales/Marketing Leads, and many other cross-functional stakeholders in Fleet’s product development programs.
What You'll Do
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Fleet's geoscience product suite, including our flagship ExoSphere platform.
- Partner deeply with geoscientists, data scientists, and engineers to translate complex technical capabilities into products customers love.
- Engage directly with Tier 1 mining companies and exploration teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and what "great" looks like in mineral exploration. This will include local and international travel where needed and possible to develop a deep understanding of our customers.
- Drive prioritisation decisions that balance customer value, technical feasibility, and commercial outcomes.
- Define and track product success metrics, using data to inform iteration and improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure seamless go-to-market execution.
- Mentor and guide other product team members, raising the bar on product craft across the organisation.
What we are looking for
- 7 + years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping successful B2B products
- Must have a degree in Geophysics, Geoscience or similar Technical science fields OR prior experience with Geoscience related products
- Experienced in Startup or Scale up Product environments
- Ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear product requirements and customer value propositions
- Experience working with technical teams (data science, engineering, ML) on complex, data-driven products
- Strong commercial acumen and experience partnering with enterprise sales teams
- You learn fast about new businesses and technologies, and you know how to get deep quickly on highly complex topics around your products
- You take a customer-centric approach, with proven ability to deeply understand customer needs, use these insights to shape products, garner feedback, and delight customers
- You combine technical fluency and business acumen, able to engage quickly on deeply technical topics, then simplify and translate these into an understanding of the business case for a product release and specific features
- You are an exceptional and artful communicator, who can be relied upon to articulate a detailed, logical, and compelling vision for a product across many different formats (strategy documents, roadmaps, PRDs, slide presentations, conferences, technical discussions) and audiences (customers, developers, cross-functional partners, executives, Board members, investors)
- You are an excellent collaborator, working directly with engineering, science, and design teams to ship delightful products in a highly technical product space
- You build great relationships and influence without authority at all levels of the organization, to rally teams to build great new products
- You are a passionate and inspirational leader, who makes teams excited about what they are building and enjoy working together
- You move fast and have high standards of speed and agility in shipping new products to scale the impact of our company – and you always deliver
- You have a CEO mindset, acting as an owner of the company and solving for overall customer, mission, and business impact in everything you do
About Fleet Space
Fleet Space Technologies' vision from the beginning was to build technologies to help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars.
This led us to develop and launch one of Australia's largest constellation of satellites, create our satellite-enabled mineral exploration technology (ExoSphere), and send Australia's first seismic technology (SPIDER) to the Moon in 2026. ExoSphere, our end-to-end mineral exploration solution powered by space and AI, aims to accelerate critical mineral discovery needed for the clean energy technologies foundational to humanity's future.
As part of Fleet's founding vision, we also apply our technology to innovative solutions for defense and space exploration, including an upcoming mission to the Moon. Headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia, Fleet has rapidly grown to over 160 employees including a growing team in the USA, Canada, and beyond.
We have raised over $200M AUD in venture funding, backed by premier investors including Blackbird, TVG, Grok, and In-Q-Tel including our most recent $150M Series D in December 2024, at a valuation of over $800M.
In 2023 we were recognised by the Australian Financial Review (AFR) as the #1 fastest growing technology company in Australia.
