Product Manager

Role overview

As Product Manager, your portfolio is a core part of our digital offering and has two distinct audiences: financial advisers (or intermediaries) and product providers.

The adviser-facing portals give access to proprietary knowledge bases, content and online training while the provider-facing portals are focused on delivering impactful and unique insights to help them find the right advisers to distribute their products, promote their brand and reach more customers.

This role reports in to the Product Operations Manager and will work closely with the Fintel Services Technology Director.

Role responsibilities

• Create and own the product vision and strategy behind each portal; in collaboration with the relevant business stakeholders
• Define the ‘jobs to be done’ for each portal; bringing together deep insights from customer research and business understanding
• Work with a squad of developers to develop solutions for the agreed jobs
• Report into the Fintel Services Technology Director and work with stakeholders across the business to understand their goals and priorities and managing the product backlog to reflect that

What you'll need to succeed

• 2 to 3 years' digital product experience
• Evidence of delivering at pace
• Strong stakeholder skills - ability to navigate easily in a complex arena and balance competing goals and requirements
• Entrepreneurial mindset - experience developing ideas in a truly customer-centric way with the ability to distil customer insights and business needs into a compelling product strategy
• A solid understanding of UX best practices with the ability to sketch out basic wireframes and bring concepts to life
• Experience of CMS platforms would be beneficial but is not essential
• A distinct leaning towards UX and product marketing is necessary rather than deep technical knowledge

Location

The team work remotely so there is no expectation to spend defined time in the office, however, it would be useful if you can get to the office from time to time to meet stakeholders and get to know the business. Our offices are in Wythenshawe, south Manchester and Huddersfield.
