Senior Developer - AI Enablement
Rate: £500.00 - £550.00 Inside IR35

The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Senior Developer with proven commercial AI engineering experience to help build and evolve a modern AI Enablement platform.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has already delivered solutions using Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, or AI-powered applications in production environments. The role combines backend software engineering, cloud-native architecture, and AI integration to deliver secure, scalable, and governed AI capabilities across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support services that form part of an Enterprise AI platform.
- Build integrations with AI gateways, foundation models, and AI engineering tooling.
- Develop reusable APIs, libraries, and frameworks for AI-enabled applications.
- Implement authentication, authorisation, observability, and governance controls.
- Develop integrations with AI agents, developer platforms, and enterprise systems.
- Contribute to AI security, assurance, and responsible AI implementation.
- Support production operations, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong software engineering experience using:
- Python
- TypeScript / Node.js
- Java
- Go
- Mandatory commercial experience delivering Generative AI or LLM-based solutions.
- Hands-on experience integrating AI models into applications, products, or enterprise workflows.
- Strong understanding of:
- Generative AI
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI Agents / Agentic AI
- Prompt Engineering
- Tool Calling
- Context Management
- Experience developing REST APIs and distributed systems.
- AWS cloud experience and cloud-native development.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and secure API integrations.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorisation, and secrets management.
- Experience building observable services using logging, metrics, monitoring, and tracing.
- Active SC Clearance.
