About epi Consulting
epi Consulting is a leading UK-based sustainability and CSR consultancy with a global client base including companies such as Vodafone, Cisco, BT Group, LIDL, Nokia, and Virgin Media O2.
For over 10 years, epi has delivered projects across carbon reduction, supply chain sustainability, eco-design, life cycle assessment (LCA), working conditions, and the circular economy.
Our work combines sustainability impact with commercial pragmatism—we help clients implement solutions that make business sense and deliver positive environmental and social outcomes.
The epi team includes Chartered Environmental Managers, former Big Four consultants, qualified accountants, MBAs, experienced project managers, and PhD-level LCA experts.
The role
You will take a hands-on role in delivering client projects, with support from experienced directors and a collaborative team, alongside a high degree of autonomy.
In this role, you will:
- Project & Programme Leadership – Manage and deliver consulting projects and programmes across client organisations and supply chains, developing CSR and sustainability strategies and improvement plans
- Strategic Analysis & Reporting – Produce high-quality technical outputs, translating analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for clients
- Tools & Delivery Frameworks – Design and implement sustainability data, assessment, and reporting frameworks to support client decision-making and programme delivery
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement – Lead workshops, webinars or meetings, acting as a subject matter expert and senior point of contact across client and stakeholder groups
- Team Leadership & Business Development – Review deliverables, mentor junior team members, and support directors with proposal development and RFP presentations.
You will deliver strategically important client projects such as:
- Semiconductor Supplier Engagement – Lead an engagement programme with global semiconductor manufacturers to assess decarbonisation plans and contribute to a sector-wide view of decarbonisation pathways for network electronics
- Organisational Sustainability Governance Model – Develop a performance management framework and KPI reporting system to enable a nuclear facilities organisation to drive CSR goals across functions
- Circular Electronics Platform Feasibility – Conduct a feasibility assessment for a trading platform for refurbished telecommunications network equipment, to scale circular electronic equipment use in the ICT value chain
- Green Transition Planning – Deliver a transition planning project for a UK telecoms company, identifying emissions, water and resource use hotspots, evaluating mitigation levers, and mapping decarbonisation and resource efficiency pathways.
Candidate requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in CSR, sustainability, ESG, or consulting within a corporate, consulting firm, start-up, or similar environment, with a track record of delivering in client-facing or high-responsibility roles
- Strong grounding in areas such as circular economy, carbon, LCA, CSR reporting, or supply chain sustainability
- Familiarity with ESG standards and frameworks beneficial (e.g. TPT, GCP, TNFD, CDP, ESRS)
- Sector experience in telecoms, manufacturing, civil engineering/construction, utilities (especially nuclear) or the electronics/tech sector is advantageous
- Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, analysis, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to operate independently with accountability for delivery
- Flexibility to operate both as a hands-on consultant or as a project manager leading a small team of consultants, as project needs require.
This role might not be for you if…
- You prefer a high amount of contact time with your colleagues. We are a geographically dispersed team with great culture and strong relationships, but we mostly work remotely and meet face-to-face twice a year for company events
- You prefer operating strictly within a narrow area of expertise. The sustainability space is evolving rapidly, meaning adaptable practitioners and fast learners will thrive
- You prefer a slower pace. We work methodically but at speed to meet client timelines and evolving sustainability priorities.
How to apply
Please apply via LinkedIn and include a brief statement (50 words or fewer) summarising why you are a strong fit for this role.
