Role Description The Software Developer will support the Embassy’s digital infrastructure by designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that enhance internal workflows and information management. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and improving back-end web applications, integrating data sources, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring secure and reliable operation of systems used by diplomatic and consular staff. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, documenting code and processes, and continually optimizing performance and usability. This is a part-time, remote role, requiring the ability to work independently, communicate effectively across time zones, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain robust applications.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including experience with common programming languages and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, such as building APIs, managing databases, and ensuring application security and scalability.
• Relevant academic background (e.g., degree or advanced coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of web security best practices, version control tools (e.g., Git), and modern development workflows.
• Ability to work remotely in a multicultural environment, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting public sector, international organizations, or diplomatic missions is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English required; knowledge of Spanish is highly beneficial.
