We’re building the next generation of our venue management platform, analytics dashboards, machine learning powered forecasting, and an intelligent actions feed that helps restaurants make smarter decisions every day. A Day-in-a-Life of our Design Engineer Design Engineer will spend most of their time turning messy, real-world hospitality workflows into clean, usable product surfaces and then building them in production React. You’ll Regularly Work With

• The PM to shape what gets built next
• Backend engineers integrating APIs and data pipelines
• Real restaurant operators using the product daily
• The broader engineering team shipping in short cycles

On Any Given Week, You Will

• Turn a rough product idea into wireframes in Figma, pressure-test it with PM and customers, then build it in React
• Join a call with a restaurant operator to understand how they forecast demand, then redesign the workflow so it takes 3 clicks instead of 12
• Build and ship a new analytics dashboard component connected to live data
• Debug a TypeScript issue in the morning and run a design critique in the afternoon
• Improve the component library so future features ship faster and stay consistent
• Push to production multiple times a week, seeing your work live within hours

There’s ambiguity. There’s speed. There’s ownership. You won’t be handed perfectly defined tickets. You’ll help define them. Some weeks you’ll be deep in interface design. Other weeks, you’ll be refining data visualisation or improving interaction flows so that insights feel trustworthy and actionable. The product MVP works today, but it needs someone who can elevate the experience and own the front-end as it scales. Type of projects you’ll be working on at EatClub…

• Designing and building AI-powered forecasting interfaces that help venues predict demand
• Creating analytics dashboards that turn raw operational data into clear, actionable insights
• Developing an intelligent “actions feed” that recommends what venue operators should do next
• Evolving our design system and React component library as the product scales
• Running lightweight discovery with customers and shaping product direction with PM

You have…

• Strong React and TypeScript skills, you ship production-ready code
• Fluency in Figma, from wireframes to high-fidelity, developer-ready specs
• Fluency in prototyping tools to spin up quick demos for stakeholders and customers
• Experience shipping complete features end-to-end
• Comfort talking directly to customers and turning feedback into design decisions
• The ability to work autonomously without heavy oversight
• Strong "Bias to Action" and takes initiative.
• "AI-First" approach when it comes to your workflows

It would be extra awesome if you also had…

• Experience building dashboards or data visualisations
• Experience contributing to or owning a design system
• Exposure to SaaS, B2B, or hospitality tech

• Able to close the gap between design and implementation instead of throwing work over the wall
• Prefer shipping and learning over polishing endlessly
• Curious and care about users' problems and love to use their feedback before deciding what to build
• Able to think in systems and components, not just screens
• Noticing small interface details, spacing, states, transitions, and are able fix them
• Use AI tools as part of your workflow and stay curious about how AI can improve products

If you do a good job… Your impact will be obvious as restaurant operators will be making faster, smarter decisions because the product feels intuitive, clear, and actionable. Adoption will increase not because we pushed it, but because the interface makes sense the moment they log in. Features will move from concept to live product in days, not quarters, and you’ll be trusted to take ideas from rough thinking through data validation and into production React without heavy oversight.
