Full Stack Software Engineer (m/f/d) – HealthTech Start-up

Are you looking to build something meaningful in healthcare? Are you passionate about learning and about technologies? We are looking for a truly full-stack Software Engineer to help us shape the health-tech industry.

What will you find?

This isn't a polished tech team with bureaucratic processes. This is ground zero. You'll be helping shape how our engineering teams work and look like. Here is how many opportunities are there:

🔥 You'll Touch Everything

  • Build features in our Next.js applications that healthcare providers use daily
  • Write Python / Bash / Node / <you_name_it> scripts that automate boring healthcare admin tasks (seriously, we're saving people hours of paperwork)
  • Help shape our infrastructure as we scale
  • Implement security measures for sensitive patient data (GDPR compliance is non-negotiable, strong PenTest, making sure our dedicate servers are safe, etc)
  • Jump on client calls when they need technical support

🎯 Real Ownership

  • Your architectural decisions will shape how we build for the next 5 years
  • No bureaucracy - see a problem? Fix it. Have an idea? Ship it.
  • Direct access to CTO, clients and a full Ops team using our tools - no layers of management
  • Your GitHub commits will be visible in production within minutes, not months

⚡ Startup Reality Check

  • Some days you'll be deep in code, other days you might be explaining technical concepts to healthcare administrators
  • You'll help us hire the next engineers and shape our technical culture
  • Expect to learn things outside your comfort zone

Who will you thrive here? You're probably perfect if:

  • You have a solid Software Engineer foundation, ideally worked with Next.js and can jump between frontend and backend without breaking a sweat
  • You've done some DevOps/infrastructure work (doesn't need to be your specialty, but you're not afraid of it)
  • You care about security and understand why healthcare data is different
  • You get excited about solving real problems for real people, not just optimizing ad click-through rates

Bonus points if:

  • You've worked at an early-stage startup before and know what you're getting into
  • You speak German (our clients are mostly German healthcare providers)
  • You have opinions about code quality and aren't afraid to voice them
  • You've ever worked in a regulated industry
  • You leverage AI without putting a product at risk

Whats in it for you?

🏥 Purpose: Every feature you build directly helps healthcare providers spend more time with patients. We impact people’s day-to-day

🚀 Growth: Help us build the engineering team from scratch

📍 Flexibility: Work from anywhere in, come to our office when it makes sense

🧠 Learning: Work directly with a former Google Tech Lead Manager who's seen how great engineering teams operate

The Honest Truth

This role is perfect if you want to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work. It's terrible if you want established processes, a big team, or predictable 9-5 hours.

Ready?

Send us via LinkedIn or to karriere@digitalepatientenhilfe.de:

  • Your CV
  • A few lines about why you want to leave wherever you are now
  • Any questions about what we're actually building
  • A cover letter. But, please, no cover letter essays, no "dear hiring manager"

Let's build something that matters.
