About The Role

As an E-commerce Front End Developer at Cognizant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all front-end development activities related to our e-commerce platforms. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing user interfaces that deliver seamless and engaging shopping experiences. This position requires a highly skilled professional capable of analyzing UI issues, leading UI/UX projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, backend, and client stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical excellence of the front-end codebase, driving usability improvements, and maintaining high standards of design and functionality. The role offers the flexibility of remote work, aligning with our commitment to providing a healthy work-life balance, while also requiring effective communication and coordination with global teams and third-party vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in front-end development
• Expertise in React.js, Next.js (including Hooks, Redux, Saga)
• Proficiency in Node.js, API service consumption, SSR/CSR rendering, middleware, and logging
• Hands-on experience with Git, SourceTree, deployment processes, and Postman for API testing
• Strong knowledge of responsive UI development using Bootstrap CSS framework (MDB library)
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JEST, including writing test scripts and ensuring code coverage
• Understanding of eCommerce platforms, commercial offerings, and frontend architecture
• Knowledge of SEO best practices, Google Tag Manager, and A/B testing (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with client-facing experience
• Ability to lead UI/UX development teams and mentor junior members

Responsibilities

• Analyze UI issues, identify root causes, and develop effective action plans for resolution
• Conduct code reviews and facilitate regular meetings with offshore teams to ensure project alignment
• Estimate UI development efforts and deliver timely, high-quality solutions
• Provide guidance to the UI team regarding UX/UI development approaches and best practices
• Collaborate closely with clients, design teams, and backend/frontend development teams to ensure project success
• Coordinate with all partners and vendors to achieve business objectives and optimize user experience
• Lead user experience and design projects, including creating information architecture, wireframes, personas, and user journeys for direct-to-consumer platforms
• Establish and communicate effective design processes rooted in Design Thinking and user-centered design principles
• Incorporate customer feedback to maintain design excellence across the eCommerce platform
• Drive iterative improvements to user interaction and experience in collaboration with third-party agencies during all stages of website design and development
• Diagnose and resolve conversion challenges swiftly in partnership with external agencies and development teams
• Offer technical guidance and troubleshoot complex issues during project delivery
• Maintain excellent communication with clients and internal teams to ensure clarity of project scope and expectations
