Role Description
The Shopware Developer position is a full-remote job based in Romania. In this position, the developer builds and maintains Shopware 6 storefronts, custom plugins, and extensions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Daily tasks include implementing new features, integrating third-party services and payment gateways, troubleshooting and optimizing existing solutions, and collaborating closely with designers and project managers. The role also involves writing clean, testable code, performing code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions for B2B and B2C e-commerce implementations. The developer is expected to stay updated on Shopware best practices and emerging e-commerce technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Shopware 6 development, including custom plugin creation and theme customization.
- Solid experience with PHP and modern frameworks, as well as familiarity with MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
- Experience with e-commerce concepts, including payment gateway integrations, checkout flows, and B2B/B2C store setups.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, headless architectures, and integrating third-party services into Shopware ecosystems.
- Comfort with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to analyze requirements, estimate tasks, and deliver maintainable solutions in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills in English;
- Prior experience in an agency or product-focused environment working on multiple e-commerce projects is a plus.
