About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the user experience of Circuit’s core product. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, user-facing web applications that are intuitive, performant, and accessible. Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams, you will translate product requirements into polished interfaces that meet business needs and user expectations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence the technical architecture of our frontend systems while mentoring team members and driving best practices. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with extensive experience in building scalable web applications, a strong understanding of modern frontend technologies, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences. You will operate with autonomy, manage complex projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our frontend architecture and development processes. Your work will directly impact the usability and reliability of our platform, helping us achieve our mission of transforming manufacturing workflows through AI-driven solutions. Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional frontend or full-stack engineering experience with a focus on web application development
• Proven experience as a staff or principal-level individual contributor within collaborative engineering teams
• Expertise in TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS, with a history of building complex, user-facing features
• Strong proficiency with CSS Modules and component-scoped styling approaches
• Experience with modern state management patterns such as React Query and Zustand
• Demonstrated ability to translate loosely defined product requirements into high-quality solutions
• Experience designing and implementing responsive, accessible interfaces adhering to UX and accessibility standards
• Hands-on experience with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx, or similar) and dependency management across multiple packages
• Proficiency in testing frameworks like Playwright, Vitest, or React Testing Library for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with best practices for error handling and API design
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and deployment automation
• Knowledge of Docker, infrastructure tooling, and DevOps practices is highly valued
• Comfort working in Linux-based environments, utilizing Git, containers, and modern development workflows

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core user-facing features within Circuit’s web application
• Translate product requirements and design concepts into responsive, accessible, and polished UI components
• Contribute to frontend architecture, establish coding patterns, and participate in technical decision-making
• Own features from conception through implementation, testing, QA, and deployment
• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure long-term reliability
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and design reviews to uphold quality standards
• Mentor team members through code reviews, shared problem-solving, and best practices
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to clarify requirements, surface trade-offs, and enhance user experience
• Identify opportunities for performance optimization, accessibility improvements, and tooling enhancements
• Manage individual project priorities and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and execution
