Hiring: AI Tech Lead | $190k–$210k + Super | Fully Remote (Australia)
I'm partnering with a growing Australian software company looking for a hands-on AI Tech Lead to take technical ownership of a new AI-powered product.
This is a genuinely hands-on position, with around 80% of your time spent engineering and the remainder focused on technical direction, architecture and mentoring.
You'll be working within a small engineering team, with plenty of autonomy to influence how the platform is built and scaled.
What you'll be working on:
- Designing and building production agentic AI workflows
- Developing multi-agent orchestration and LLM-powered automation
- Building reliable backend services and integrations
- Implementing evaluations, monitoring and guardrails for AI systems
- Making architectural decisions and mentoring engineers as the team grows
What we're looking for:
- Strong commercial software engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features into production
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph or similar orchestration frameworks
- AWS experience, particularly Lambda, ECS or serverless architecture
- An understanding of LLM evaluations, observability and reliability
- Previous technical leadership experience without losing the hands-on element
