About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer Security Engineer to join our team at GrabJobs. This pivotal role involves safeguarding our mission-critical web applications, APIs, and sensitive data by integrating robust security measures throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in secure software development, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, implement security controls, and ensure compliance with federal standards such as NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects in a remote work environment, with the potential for on-site collaboration at our client’s facilities in Washington, DC, as needed. Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CSSLP, GWEB, CASE, OSWE, OSCP, Security+, or GSEC are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate extensive hands-on experience in secure software development, DevSecOps automation, and vulnerability remediation. Proficiency in log analysis, web application firewalls, and security testing tools like Wireshark, SIEM, IDS/IPS, NDR, or EDR is essential. Strong knowledge of modern web technologies including .NET (C# MVC, WCF), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, REST APIs, and SQL is required. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, React.js, and TypeScript is also important. The candidate must have at least three years of experience in Web Application Security, AppSec, or secure SDLC (SSDLC), with a demonstrated ability to implement security controls within CI/CD pipelines and manage compliance reporting. Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating critical vulnerabilities, logic flaws, insecure dependencies, and misconfigurations within web applications and APIs. You will lead the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle, including proactive threat modeling, advanced security assessments, and validation of remediation efforts. Supporting the integration of security controls into application architectures, you will advise on secure design patterns, data protection strategies, and secure communication protocols. Monitoring web server and application logs for anomalies and indicators of compromise will be a key aspect of your role, along with implementing automation scripts to enhance threat detection and response capabilities. You will maintain comprehensive documentation of findings, remediation steps, and security controls, ensuring audit readiness and compliance with federal standards. Your responsibilities will also include configuring and managing web application firewalls tailored to specific applications and traffic patterns, deploying and tuning File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) solutions, and supporting security testing and evaluation activities. Additionally, you will perform complex risk assessments, analyze cyber threats, and provide strategic guidance for core systems and dependencies. Collaborating effectively across teams, you will support security operations at Tier II levels and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within our security framework.
