We're partnering with a fast-scaling European fintech/mobility company backed by some of the biggest names in energy, finance, and mobility to find a strong Backend Developer to join their engineering team

.They operate the largest B2C network for digital fuelling in Europe — in-app and in-car payments at petrol stations across the continent. Their platform is event-driven, microservice-based, and genuinely growing

.What you'll be working on

• Integrating new cashier systems and external platforms into an event-driven microservice architecture
• Taking the existing architecture to the next level using Node.js (TypeScript), Docker, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and emerging tools
• Ensuring seamless communication between internal systems and external platforms with high reliability and fault tolerance
• Developing and optimising algorithms for efficient data parsing and serialisation across diverse data structures and formats
• Proactively identifying and resolving issues in data transformation to enhance system performance and adaptability
• Writing clean, maintainable code that contributes to the long-term quality and sustainability of the platform
• Working in cross-functional agile teams with real ownership from day one

The profile

• Several years of hands-on backend development experience, preferably with Node.js/TypeScript
• Comfortable designing scalable, high-performance distributed systems (load balancing, caching, DB optimisation
• Strong analytical thinker who can own problems end to end
• Good written English — you'll be working in cross-functional teams
• Bonus: experience with payment processing or PCI-DSS standards
