About The Role As a Front-End Web Developer within Miva’s Software department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of eCommerce solutions. You will work on a variety of impactful projects, including building dynamic web components, refining existing frameworks, and developing new features for Miva Merchant stores. Your work will directly influence the performance, usability, and overall success of online businesses across diverse industries. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you will partner closely with senior developers, UX designers, and industry experts to deliver high-quality, fast, and elegant solutions. The position is fully remote, with most team members operating on Pacific Time schedules, making it ideal for candidates comfortable working within those hours. Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience as a web developer
• Proficiency in coding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from scratch without reliance on frameworks, libraries, or packages
• Experience developing responsive, secure, performant, accessible, and maintainable solutions
• Ability to integrate HTML, CSS, & JavaScript solutions into server-side templating languages
• Completion of OWASP Top Ten security training and application of secure coding standards
• Solid understanding of JSON APIs, XML markup, and HTTP request/response flows
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
• Knowledge of server-side programming languages and concepts such as Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.
• Experience with command line tools, build processes, and Docker
• Familiarity with authoring automated test scripts using tools like Playwright or Cypress
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for team-based projects

Responsibilities

• Interpret user requirements to create clear and effective software specifications
• Analyze business processes to inform development decisions and improve functionality
• Learn and apply features of the Miva Merchant eCommerce CMS and related software
• Convert designs and specifications into interactive and responsive web solutions using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Miva Template Language
• Optimize website functionality for performance, maintainability, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Adhere to secure coding best practices, ensuring software security and integrity
• Develop manual and automated tests to verify software quality and performance
• Collaborate with team members to foster an innovative and solutions-oriented development environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support project goals and team success
