About The Role

As a Software Engineer at Motive, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to transforming product ideas into real-world solutions. Your role will involve designing components and services for new feature developments, ensuring scalable architecture, and contributing to robust projects that are vital for fleet safety. You will work on server solutions that interface with industry-leading Dashcams, track critical driving events, and develop tools tailored for safety managers and drivers. Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience
• A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in creating extensible, performant, and maintainable software
• Strong programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Ruby (Rails), GoLang, Java, Python, NodeJS
• Solid understanding of relational databases, preferably Postgres or MySQL
• Experience with scaling, troubleshooting, migrations, and security in distributed systems
• Experience with NoSQL databases, AWS, microservices, and SOA architecture
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems, preferably Git
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and document scalable technical solutions
• Write secure, maintainable, and high-performance code that powers the platform connecting the trucking industry worldwide
• Develop, launch, and support features used by trucking companies and industry partners
• Lead code reviews and contribute to guiding software architecture decisions
• Serve as a technical resource for the product team to assess the feasibility of new features
• Participate in troubleshooting, optimizing, and securing distributed systems
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices
