Role Overview:
As a Product Owner (PO) at VRIZE, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between stakeholders, development teams, and end users to deliver high-quality, scalable Point-of-Sale (POS) retail solutions. You will be responsible for analyzing current application versions, streamlining functionalities, and driving consistency across all customer touchpoints (in-store, mobile, and online). The role demands a strategic mindset, strong analytical acumen, and a deep understanding of retail POS systems.
Key Responsibilities:1. Requirements & Analysis
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate detailed business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Conduct gap and impact analysis between current POS functionalities and evolving business needs.
- Work closely as a product owner/manager to schedule and facilitate clarification sessions and finalize user stories.
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
- Define and document clear acceptance criteria for each user story.
- Support development and QA teams throughout the sprint to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
2. Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between business users, product management, and technology teams.
- Conduct and facilitate workshops, sprint demos, UAT sessions, and regular feedback cycles with stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate risks, dependencies, and project status to stakeholders.
3. Project Coordination & Dependency Management
- Collaborate with the project manager and scrum master for planning and sprint execution.
- Identify and manage cross-team dependencies and integration points, especially involving third-party vendors or services (e.g., payment gateways, loyalty providers).
- Proactively track progress and support the team in resolving blockers to ensure timely delivery.
4. Retail POS Domain Focus
- Analyze and recommend enhancements to POS features like sales transactions, returns, inventory, promotions, loyalty programs, receipts, cashier workflows, etc.
- Ensure the system supports multi-store operations, offline mode, hardware integrations (scanners, printers, payment devices), and omnichannel use cases.
- Validate compliance with retail operational processes, tax and financial reconciliation, and regional regulatory standards.
Required Skillset:Domain Expertise:
- Mandatory: Proven experience as a Product Owner (PO) in Retail POS domain (at least 2–4 years).
- Strong understanding of retail workflows including inventory, promotions, pricing, loyalty, returns, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Familiarity with omnichannel retail, e-commerce integration, and store operational workflows is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
- Ability to write clear and structured user stories, process flows, and wireframes.
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and system integration points (preferred).
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, Visio, Lucid chart for modelling processes and data.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Critical thinking with attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving with a focus on delivery and quality.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving retail tech environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience working with cloud-based POS systems
