About Our Client
Our client is the only pure-play, direct-to-consumer digital insurer focused on the growing home insurance market. It makes policies convenient and affordable through a technology platform that delivers a seamless user experience, customized options for coverage, and fast, high-quality claims service. Our client is a fully licensed carrier that offers coverage through its reciprocal exchanges which are owned by its policyholders.
About The Role
Our client is redesigning insurance to be smarter, faster, and centered on the customer. It uses intelligent pricing, offers seamless bundling, and makes every step (from purchasing, servicing to claims) simple and friction-free, especially in the places traditional insurers often ignore.
Our client empowers people to protect what matters most, starting with their homes and expanding to all they value, in a world where climate risks, rising costs, and outdated systems leave too many behind. The company's approach has fostered amazing growth, attracted marquee investors, and earned it accolades, including being named to:
- Built In Chicago's Best Places to Work, Midsize Companies.
- Forbes' America's Best Startup Employers.
- Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies.
- Forbes’ Fintech 50.
So, what’s the role?
An ambitious Product Manager is sought to drive key strategic initiatives, particularly in the areas of insurance policy administration platforms, accounting ledger systems, and billing systems. In this role, the individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, operations, finance, insurance, design, and customer research. The Product Manager will partner with stakeholders and technology colleagues to research, validate, and present proposals, then execute on those approved and prioritized.
The objective in this role is to lead entire projects or parts of larger projects. The Product Manager will develop a solid understanding of the company’s business, its customers, and its operations. There will be an opportunity to hone product management skills by working across the robust platform and leading a development team. Success and career growth will hinge on the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and the internal stakeholder team in order to identify areas to improve the business, products, and processes. The role involves solving problems and often taking the initiative to build a case and start a project.
A day in the life could include:
- Working closely with the Product Director to define and communicate the product vision.
- Assisting in creating and managing product roadmaps that address the biggest needs in the business and meaningfully impact OKRs, while delighting customers and other end users.
- Digging deep into data and product experience to understand the most significant problems that users face, and working with design and engineering to develop and test solutions.
- Collaborating with the user research team and sharing key learnings with the development team, the product team, and the company.
- Partnering closely with the development team to socialize product plans, and collaborating to size the work and find ways to make it better through team feedback.
- Writing user stories that provide all of the details needed by development teams to develop key features.
- Ensuring the successful rollout, growth, and success of features via communications and training to appropriate users/stakeholders across the business.
- Defining, evangelizing, and monitoring the metrics that demonstrate product success.
- Coordinating and leading regular team and stakeholder meetings to both gather feedback on projects and share important updates.
- Motivating the development team and connecting the team’s daily work with the bigger goals of the organization.
