About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at PCO Analytics. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, development, and management of our data processing architectures and solutions. Your expertise will ensure the efficient conversion of both structured and unstructured data into actionable insights at an enterprise scale. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Intelligence, you will handle complex data challenges spanning moderate to substantial scope, leveraging your technical acumen to drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for ingesting data from diverse internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms, adhering to best practices in software development. You will develop advanced software tools incorporating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data technologies to transform raw data into meaningful insights that enhance member outcomes. Leading the development of our data warehouse utilizing Medallion architecture and Kimball modeling, you will deliver optimized, business-ready data marts and star schemas for analytics. Additionally, you will establish and govern the information architecture, ensuring robust metadata management, reference data governance, ontologies, and semantic layers. Collaboration with various partners to develop data governance frameworks and standards will be essential to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to influence key data strategies within a forward-thinking healthcare organization, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies to improve healthcare delivery for seniors. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of technical experience OR Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Expertise in Medallion architecture and Kimball dimensional modeling
  • Proven experience integrating semantic and organizational data assets with leading AI platforms
  • Minimum of 2 years of project leadership experience
  • Advanced proficiency working with large, complex datasets within large organizational environments
  • Expertise in SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, or other data systems
  • At least 2 years of experience with dbt (data build tool)
  • Strong understanding of Healthcare-related data and analytics
  • Ability to work effectively within the EST time zone

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing architectures that support enterprise analytics and decision-making
  • Ingest data from internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Develop software tools leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data technologies to generate actionable insights
  • Lead the development and optimization of the data warehouse using Medallion architecture and Kimball modeling techniques
  • Establish and govern the information architecture, including metadata management, reference data, ontologies, and semantic layers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to develop and enforce data governance frameworks and standards
  • Exercise decision-making on complex data-related issues, analyzing variables and recommending best courses of action
  • Mentor and lead data engineering team members to foster best practices and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy policies, and regulatory requirements, especially within healthcare data environments
