About The Role As a key member of our engineering team, the role offers an exciting opportunity to influence how customers leverage observability for their infrastructure and services architecture. You will work on Chronosphere, a Palo Alto Networks company, which is a leading observability platform designed for the modern, containerized world. Your work will focus on building and enhancing AI-driven capabilities, designing scalable systems for processing large telemetry data, and improving system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. This position is ideal for experienced engineers who possess a strong product sense, enjoy solving complex problems, and thrive in a remote environment. You will collaborate with highly technical teammates and customers, shaping the technical roadmap and delivering innovative features that transform how teams troubleshoot and maintain system reliability during critical moments. Qualifications

• Strong experience in one or more backend programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or Rust
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude) in daily software development
• Proven ability to build and operate highly available, scalable systems in production environments
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Expertise in designing APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) for scalable applications
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Experience managing projects from conception through to delivery with autonomy and good judgment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimization
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
• Ability to operate effectively in a remote-first environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance AI-powered observability features to provide actionable insights for customers
• Design and implement scalable systems for processing and contextualizing large telemetry datasets
• Contribute to the architecture of our rapidly growing platform, ensuring reliability and performance
• Collaborate with product teams to define technical roadmaps and deliver innovative solutions
• Improve system observability by leveraging our own products and tools
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across distributed systems
• Mentor junior engineers, uphold engineering standards, and promote best practices
• Engage with customers and internal teams to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new technologies to enhance platform capabilities
