Android Developer (Kotlin / Ktor) – Contract

We’re working with a global technology consultancy supporting a large-scale, high-traffic mobile application used by millions of users worldwide. They’re looking for an experienced Android Developer to join a long-term delivery team focused on stability, performance, and incremental feature delivery.

This role sits within an established product team and is well-suited to developers who enjoy working from clearly defined requirements, delivering high-quality enhancements and fixes within a mature native Android codebase.

🔧 What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and enhancing native Android applications using Kotlin
  • Implementing and maintaining networking and service integrations using Ktor
  • Delivering well-scoped features, improvements, and bug fixes from a prioritised backlog
  • Collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to implement agreed requirements
  • Ensuring performance, reliability, and responsiveness for a high-traffic user base
  • Contributing to code reviews and ongoing improvements across the codebase

🧠 What we’re looking for

  • Strong commercial experience with native Android development
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, with hands-on experience using Ktor
  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services
  • A delivery-focused mindset and the ability to work effectively on defined tasks
  • Familiarity with modern Android best practices, tooling, and version control (Git)
