About Payble
Payble is the world’s first payment experience platform for local government. With over 150,000 users across nearly 50 councils in Australia and New Zealand, we're already making a measurable difference to communities and councils alike.
At Payble, we’re solving real-world problems with purpose: helping local governments improve cash flow, reduce costs, and provide better experiences for their communities. Our customers love what we do - and so do the residents they serve, with a 4.8/5 average user rating.
We’re scaling rapidly. We doubled our customer base in 2024 and are on track to more than double again this year. With strong momentum in Australia and New Zealand, the UK is firmly in our sights for 2026.
But what truly sets us apart is our people. We’re a tight-knit, high-performing team that values trust, respect, and clear communication. We believe in working hard on things that matter, supporting each other, and creating an environment where talented people can do their best work.
The Role
We’re hiring an Associate Technical Project Manager / Project Coordinator to join our growing Services team. This role reports to our Senior Technical Project Manager and will play a key part in helping councils implement Payble smoothly and successfully.
You’ll work closely with both customers and internal teams to coordinate technical onboarding, manage timelines, track delivery, and support the day-to-day running of implementation projects.
It’s a great role for someone with strong organisation skills, technical understanding, and a desire to grow into more senior project management responsibilities over time. You’ll be exposed to complex projects, learn how enterprise SaaS delivery works, and make a meaningful impact on community outcomes.
You’ll Love This Role If You
- Have existing experience in project coordination or delivery and want to grow your career
- Are comfortable dealing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Enjoy solving problems, tracking moving parts, and making things run smoothly
- Are excited about working in a fast-moving, purpose-driven startup
- Want to learn from a supportive senior leader and grow into a more senior delivery role
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of technical implementation projects, particularly for new council customers
- Work with the Senior Project Manager to keep delivery plans and timelines up to date
- Help track progress, chase down blockers, and keep stakeholders informed
- Schedule and run customer check-ins and internal project syncs
- Coordinate with internal teams including Product, Engineering and Support to ensure delivery stays on track
- Maintain documentation and ensure tasks are logged and tracked in our project management systems
- Assist in running retros, reporting on delivery metrics, and improving processes
- Be a friendly, reliable point of contact for council staff during onboarding and early usage
Across a Typical Day, You Might:
- Review project timelines, update Jira tickets, and check in with councils on milestone progress
- Join an implementation call with a new customer to walk through their onboarding checklist
- Coordinate with the engineering team to confirm a deployment timeline and flag any risks
- Attend a daily sync with the Services team to report progress and raise any blockers
- Update internal documentation and chase up an open item needed from the customer
- Support testing of a feature before go-live, or help a customer troubleshoot a minor technical issue
- Work with your manager to draft a delivery summary or lessons learned after go-live
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years existing experience in project coordination, project support, delivery or similar
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability
- An ability to manage multiple moving parts and keep things progressing
- Some technical aptitude—comfortable working with engineers or talking about product features
- Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or local government is a bonus but not essential
- A growth mindset—you’re keen to learn, improve, and take on more over time
What’s In It for You?
- A supportive and collaborative team that will help you grow
- Interesting projects that make a real difference in communities
- The chance to be part of a fast-growing Aussie tech company
- Remote-first work style with flexibility and trust
- Annual phone and internet allowance ($1,200)
- Great salary package
