Contract Length: 12 Months (with scope to extend)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Fullstack Developer to join a high-profile programme within a secure environment. This role requires active SC Clearance.

You will lead a team of senior and mid-level engineers while remaining hands-on across the full technology stack. The position combines technical leadership, architectural input, and close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of fullstack engineers
• Contribute hands-on across backend and frontend development
• Design and deliver scalable, secure Java-based services
• Collaborate with product, delivery, and non-technical stakeholders
• Promote engineering best practices including TDD and CI/CD
• Support DevOps processes and cloud-native deployment in AWS
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong Java experience (Spring Boot)
• Experience with relational databases (Postgres or similar SQL databases)
• Docker and containerised application deployment
• Test-driven development (JUnit, Mockito or equivalent frameworks)
• CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins or similar)
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical teams
