Field Operations Transition Program Manager (contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions (AGS). If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. Summary The Field Operations Transition Program Manager is responsible for leading the transition of newly built data centers from construction and commissioning into live Operations. Acting as the single point of contact between engineering, construction, commissioning and Operations teams, the role ensures operational readiness, manages site acceptance and handover activities, reviews critical documentation, and supports onboarding of Operations teams. • Act as primary liaison between Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Ops teams
• Own end‑to‑end transition of new data centers into Operations
• Plan and track all handover activities, milestones, and risks
• Attend design reviews and flag operational concerns early
• Coordinate construction work impacting live data centers
• Support Engineering with Ops-related queries and decisions
• Capture and share lessons learned to prevent repeat issues
• Identify equipment quality issues and push for remediation
• Support Ops onboarding for new (greenfield) sites
• Build deep site knowledge and maintain a risk register
• Support site mobilization (spares, tools, consumables)
• Lead site acceptance (CSA walks, beneficial use, turnover walks)
• Engage third‑party maintenance vendors for contracts
• Review and validate handover documentation:
• O&M manuals
• As‑built / record drawings
• Permits, certificates, warranties
• Participate in turnover issue reviews and assess Ops impact

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years' experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
• 3+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience working with collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams etc.)
• At least two years’ experience with reporting and data analytics systems & platforms (e.g. Power BI)
• Strong working knowledge of physical data center infrastructure and technology
• Willingness to work flexible hours, non-business hours, or other scenarios required by business needs
• Knowledge of design, construction and commissioning techniques, terminology, and documentation
• Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls & frameworks
• Ability to initiate, drive and delivery projects, analyze complex problems and communicate plans and findings to internal customers/stakeholders

Additional Details

• Location: Dublin Ireland (Remote but with occasional travel up to 20% travel)
• Duration: 12 months
• Shift Timings: Flexible between 7:00AM to 7:00PM (business hours)
• Pay Range: €355.22 - €400/day (PAYE)
• Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
