ABOUT THE ROLE

As our React Native Software Engineer, you will be a pivotal part of our dynamic development team, leveraging your solid experience in hybrid mobile application development using React Native. This role has a strong focus on building reusable games or services as independent products, ensuring that our codebase is efficient and scalable across both Android and iOS platforms. You will combine your foundational understanding of native Android (Java/Kotlin) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development with cutting-edge AI capabilities, working closely with tech leads, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality, engaging, and innovative mobile experiences. This role embraces modern development practices, including AI-assisted coding and intelligent automation, to push the boundaries of what's possible in iGaming.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• Architect, build, and optimize cross-platform React Native apps for Android & iOS focusing on speed, reliability, and an outstanding user experience.
• Design and implement WebSocket-based services to deliver live odds, score updates, and push notifications with minimal latency.
• Develop games, betting widgets, and ancillary services as standalone, reusable modules for rapid iteration and future reuse.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) for generation, refactoring, and debugging; contribute to our AI-driven development workflows.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to roll out new wagering features, refine UI flows, and optimize conversion funnels.
• Write performant native modules in Kotlin/Java or Swift/Objective-C where needed for low-latency streaming or complex calculations.
• Champion TDD: author unit/integration tests, integrate AI-powered testing tools, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for quick, reliable releases.
• Partner with backend, QA, and product teams; participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning alongside the Head of Engineering.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years building production React Native apps, ideally in sports betting, iGaming, or other real-time data industries.
• Hands-on with
• WebSockets (or similar technologies) to power live updates, streaming data, and push notifications,
• JavaScript (ES6+) & TypeScript, modern bundlers (Webpack, Vite)
• React Native performance tuning and native modules development.
• Knowledge of End-to-End testing tool such as Detox, Maestro, Cypress, Selenium or Appium for mobile;
• Familiarity with development environment tools like Xcode, Android Studio, Firebase and Git.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Context API, Redux, Zustand and/or MobX
• Familiarity with native Android development (Java/Kotlin) and native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C).
• Knowledge of app release process on App Store and Google Play Store
• Knowledge of Unit testing with frameworks like Jest
• Proven experience with mobile CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Fastlane); AWS/Azure a plus.
• Knowledge of Restful APIs and modern backend integration patterns.
• Experience with usage of animation libraries like Reanimated or the core Animated API is a bonus
• Strong track record designing modular, maintainable codebases.
• Experience or interest in AI coding assistants and prompt engineering.

AI/ML Exposure:

• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in leveraging AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine, code refactoring AI).
• Familiarity with foundational AI/ML concepts and their application in mobile development (e.g., integrating ML models for personalized experiences, recommendation engines, or intelligent analytics).
• Experience with prompt engineering for guiding AI code generation is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Good attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills and a high standard for code quality through peer reviews and a high degree of automation. Good command of both verbal and written English.
• Domain Advantage: Previous experience in a company with a focus on gamification, iGaming, or free-to-play games is advantageous. Previous experience working within a startup/scale-up environment is advantageous.
