This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a QA/Release Manager in the European Union. We're seeking a quality-driven professional to lead and refine the software release lifecycle for a fast-growing enterprise tech environment. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end process of testing, validation, and delivery for on-premises software solutions. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to ensure each release meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and stability. Accountabilities

  • Lead and implement a comprehensive QA strategy, ensuring consistent testing practices across the organization
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test plans tailored for on-prem environments
  • Oversee functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to guarantee release quality
  • Manage the entire release lifecycle — from build creation to packaging, documentation, and final delivery
  • Ensure version control, upgrade paths, and rollback procedures are validated and reproducible
  • Define and monitor QA metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and release validation rates
  • Collaborate with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing workflows
  • Coordinate with engineering and product teams to ensure release readiness, communication, and sign-off
  • Continuously enhance processes and automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Conduct retrospective reviews to identify improvement areas in the release and QA cycle

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QA, Release Management, or a related software delivery role
  • Proven background in on-premises or enterprise software release processes
  • Strong understanding of software packaging and distribution (e.g., Docker, Helm, Debian/RPM, or VM images)
  • Proficiency with automated testing tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitLab CI) and artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
  • Solid Linux and scripting skills, with attention to reproducibility and reliability
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Skilled in cross-team coordination, documentation, and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with configuration management and version control systems
  • Bonus points for experience with on-prem deployments, Kubernetes, Docker, or security testing
  • Certifications such as ISTQB, PMP, or similar credentials are a plus
