This leadership role oversees the strategy, execution, and delivery of high-quality products across multiple projects, ensuring that both functional and non-functional standards are met. The Head of Quality Engineering and Assurance will manage multidisciplinary teams, define testing strategies, and implement automation frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness. You will work closely with engineering, design, and production teams to integrate QA best practices, influence product development, and maintain compliance with platform requirements. This position combines strategic planning, hands-on technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate product quality. You will also serve as a key liaison with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of QA objectives and results. The role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where innovation, leadership, and mentorship are highly valued. Accountabilities
- Define and execute QA and quality engineering strategy for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with overall product and operational goals
- Oversee and mentor QA and engineering teams, including test leads, to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards on time and within budget
- Implement and innovate testing methodologies for functional, non-functional, automated, and performance testing
- Architect and manage test automation frameworks, reporting systems, and tools to improve QA efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with engineering, design, production, and other departments to integrate QA into development workflows and promote left-shifting quality practices
- Act as primary point of contact for QA matters, communicating with leadership, external partners, and vendors
- Manage compliance, submission, and certification processes for console and platform standards
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years of engineering experience in a live service capacity
- 10+ years of experience in quality assurance or engineering in the video game industry, with 4+ years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of shipping multiple titles and supporting live service products
- Experience with SaaS, CI pipelines, automated testing, and fast turnaround validation
- Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Hansoft, Testrail)
- Experience with functional, performance, regression, usability, and automated testing, including Python or API-driven headless frameworks
- Strong leadership, project management, mentorship, and communication skills
- Passion for games and commitment to delivering high-quality products
