Back End Developer

Intella is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a backend-focused engineer based in the Philippines with strong experience building reliable, scalable services and APIs. You’ll collaborate with international teams to deliver features that power mission-critical products.

We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, highly technical, and comfortable working in a remote environment with asynchronous collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams
• Contribute to system architecture and backend best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement preventative measures

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in backend software development
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Node.js, React.js, Python, Go, Java, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of API development and integration (RESTful, GraphQL)
• Solid experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.)
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development
• Comfortable working remotely and using tools like Slack, Jira, and GitHub

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Understanding of microservices architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Security-conscious development practices (auth, encryption, audits)
