Microsoft Engineering Manager

Microsoft Engineering Manager - UK / remote - innovative, fast-growing and established MSP.

70% technical leadership and approx. 30% people management.

This role blends technical leadership, delivery oversight, operational excellence, and customer engagement to ensure predictable, scalable, and high-quality outcomes across all engagements.

Skills/experience

• Solid experience working with Microsoft cloud transformation and modern workplace technologies
• Proven experience delivering cloud migration projects across applications, data, and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of DevOps tooling and methodologies (Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code). • Ability to implement solutions aligned with CAF, Well-Architected pillars, and industry security frameworks.
• • Proven experience in at least one of the following:
• • Cloud & AI Platforms (Cloud Migration & Modernisation, CAF & WAF design and operating principles, Landing Zones, IaC, Data & Analytics)
• • AI Business Solutions (Identity Management, Data Governance, Endpoint Management, Power Platform, Data & Analytics, Security) • Security (Entra ID, Defender suite, Zero Trust)
• • Hybrid Infrastructure (Windows Server, AD DS, VMware/Hyper-V, migration tooling)

Desirable

Microsoft Azure, 365, Power Platform/BI or DevOps certifications • ITIL, TOGAF, AGILE or other architectural/governance certifications

Review and Agree project scope and engineering estimates

Project Work Breakdown Structure, Planning & Design

Implementation & Migration Strategy Ownership

Assist the PM’s as required to oversee pilot phases, migration waves, technical validation

Embed automation, tooling, and repeatable patterns to accelerate delivery and reduce

risk.

Task Assignment & Scheduling (with Project Management)

Work closely with PMs to assign tasks based on skills, workload, and project priorities.

Control of software development / DevOps

Technical Escalation Management

Ensure technical engineering tasks are fulfilled to time, quality & budget

Drive Customer Optimisation Strategy
