⚙️ The Rol

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help us scale our secure incident-logging platform and related APIs. You’ll work closely with our frontend, UX, and policy teams to build robust, privacy-centric infrastructure that can handle sensitive data with absolute care

.

Your responsibilities will include

: • Designing and maintaining secure APIs (Node.js or Python/FastAPI preferred)

. • Integrating cloud storage and database layers (Firebase, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB)

. • Implementing encryption and data-protection best practices

. • Supporting user authentication, media uploads, and real-time data synchronization

. • Collaborating with our security lead to ensure compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA-like standards)

. • Writing clean, well-documented code and contributing to Git-based workflows

. • Participating in weekly remote sprints and async reviews

🧠 Ideal Backgroun

d • 2–5 years of backend or full-stack development experience

. • Proficiency in Python or Node.js, plus one major web framework (FastAPI, Express, etc.)

. • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Firebase, Google Cloud, or AWS)

. • Familiarity with authentication flows, JWT, and RESTful API design

. • Bonus: familiarity with data encryption, secure media handling, or social-impact tech

. • Collaborative spirit — able to communicate with non-technical teams

. • Passion for human-centered technology and ethical data use
