The Product Marketing Manager will own how products and features are positioned, packaged, launched, and understood in the market. They will be the connective tissue between teams, translating complex technical and financial concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
This role requires personal energy. The ability to build momentum, bring people together, and keep multiple stakeholders aligned and motivated. Product teams, commercial teams, leadership, and external partners will all rely on this person to drive clarity and execution.
Writing is core to the role. This is a hands-on position for an exceptional writer who enjoys rolling their sleeves up. From value propositions and messaging frameworks to pitch decks, landing pages, internal training materials, and version controlled product documentation, this person will be producing high quality content themselves, not delegating it away.
Project management is equally critical. Product launches here are meaningful, cross functional rollouts that require planning, coordination, and follow through. The Product Marketing Manager will own end to end go to market execution, defining timelines, aligning teams, setting success metrics, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
A strong technical background is important. The role supports technical products and features, so confidence working with engineers, product managers, and technical documentation is essential. Comfort with version control, structured writing, and technical accuracy is a must.
The right person may already be a Product Marketing Manager, or they may be a strong generalist marketer who has taken on PMM responsibilities in a previous role. What matters most is mindset and output.
