A privately owned business our client provides premium end-of-line packaging and processing machinery solutions to the food and healthcare sectors.
Working in partnership with some of the world’s leading blue-chip companies, the business has established a strong reputation for engineering leadership, quality, efficiency and innovation.
During its 50-year history the business has developed a successful international footprint working with both a trusted agent network and directly with customers. As part of its future group growth strategy it is now looking to extend its influence and share in international markets.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the Export Sales Manager will lead the development of the company’s export strategy. You will work to develop existing customer business as well as proactively identifying new international opportunities for the group.
Bringing international market insight to the sales team, you will ensure the business is aware of changing market and competitor dynamics to enable more accurate and effective future business planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the company’s export sales strategy.
- Establish strong working partnerships and dialogue with the existing international customer base and international agent network.
- Lead business development activities in defined international territories to unlock incremental growth.
- Develop close working relationships with colleagues across the group to ensure agreed international opportunities are actioned.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the business across export territories.
- Build an up-to-date suite of export market intelligence to support accurate in-market activation and further business planning.
- Work closely with internal colleagues across the company to ensure customer accounts are being proactively managed including identifying and addressing opportunities to improve, leading with an international lens.
- Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.
Requirements
- Proven experience in selling capital equipment (previous packaging industry experience where possible).
- Passionate about building long term customer relationships with both existing customers and new business opportunities.
- Driven by achieving commercial success and proactively seeking out new opportunities to fuel additional growth.
- Committed to building successful working relationships with colleagues across the business and in partner organisations.
- A demonstrable ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
- Ability to travel internationally to customer sites and partner businesses as projects dictate.
