Azure Engineering Manager

EPAM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager focused on Microsoft Azure to join our growing team in Poland.

You'll be a key player in architecting innovative, scalable, and secure cloud solutions for our clients while also leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers. This is a senior, hands-on, client-facing role offering significant opportunities to shape EPAM's cloud business.

This position offers a remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Poland, whether it's your home or one of our well-equipped offices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Azure solutions tailored to client needs, covering cloud migrations, greenfield deployments, hybrid environments, and AI/ML projects while adhering to the Azure Well-Architected Framework and FinOps principles
• Oversee Azure projects by managing stakeholders, tracking KPIs, and mitigating risks effectively
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability, while driving adoption of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and container tools such as AKS and Helm charts
• Engage with pre-sales efforts, including responding to RFPs and delivering technical presentations as an expert advisor
• Evaluate and adopt new Azure technologies (AI, serverless, sustainability offerings) to drive R&D initiatives and enhance team performance

Requirements

• Expertise in Azure solutions, covering IaaS (Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage), PaaS (App Services, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, SQL Database, AKS), and serverless technologies
• Proficiency in CI/CD workflows (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub) and IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Pulumi, Bicep)
• Background in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) with experience in AKS, paired with scripting and automation skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python)
• Knowledge of Azure security protocols, such as Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, and DDoS Protection
• Competency in implementing and managing AI-powered solutions
• Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana, and applying cost optimization strategies
• Leadership skills for mentoring team members and motivating collaborative teamwork
• Strong communication and presentation abilities in English at a minimum C1 level
• Understanding of new innovations in cloud engineering with a commitment to staying at the forefront of developments

Nice to have

• Background in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, alongside familiarity with ITIL principles
• Experience in Architect, Consultant, or Delivery Manager roles, demonstrating client collaboration and value-driven outcomes
• Certification in vendor qualifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
