Full-Stack DevOps Engineer (Remote | Contract-to-Hire)

We’re seeking a highly engaged and motivated Full-Stack DevOps Engineer who is passionate about continuous learning, modern JavaScript engineering, and delivering high-quality cloud-native solutions. This role supports a large-scale enterprise environment and offers the opportunity to contribute across impactful full-stack product features.

This is a remote, contract-to-hire position with long-term growth potential.

About the Role

You’ll be focused primarily on backend engineering (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL) while collaborating with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to deploy applications into cloud-native environments. Over time, you’ll also have opportunities to contribute to front-end features as part of a Single Pane of Glass (SPoG) platform.

What You’ll Do

• Build and enhance backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and GraphQL
• Perform schema updates, type generation, and work within Apollo Studio
• Deploy applications through Harness into AWS/EKS environments
• Support event-driven architecture leveraging Kafka
• Work with containerized workloads using Docker
• Integrate with relational databases such as Postgres
• Develop and support real-time communication features using WebSockets and GraphQL subscriptions
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and engineering teammates
• Contribute to front-end work over time (React/Next.js experience a plus)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years with ReactJS or NodeJS, and GraphQL or similar JavaScript frameworks
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript background
• Experience in complex full-stack environments involving scalable systems and APIs

Technical Requirements (Must-Have)

• TypeScript
• Node.js
• Strong GraphQL experience (queries, mutations, subscriptions, schema updates)
• Experience with Apollo Studio
• CI/CD tools — strong preference for Harness
• Cloud experience (AWS/EKS)
• Docker containerization
• Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies
• Git & version control
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments

Nice to Have

• Next.js or other modern front-end frameworks
• Travel, lodging, or related industry experience
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure)
• Big Data, Spark, or Scala exposure
• Enterprise or solution architecture experience
• Logging, observability, and backend debugging awareness
• Familiarity with Tosca (not required)
