About The Company

Our mission is to scale intelligence to serve humanity. We’re training and deploying frontier models for developers and enterprises who are building AI systems to power magical experiences like content generation, semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and autonomous agents. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI. Our team is composed of passionate researchers, engineers, designers, and other professionals, all dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI capabilities. We value diversity and inclusion, understanding that a range of perspectives is essential for building innovative products that meet the needs of a global user base. At our core, we obsess over what we build—striving to increase model capabilities and deliver maximum value to our customers. We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment where hard work and innovation go hand in hand, enabling us to stay at the forefront of AI research and application.

About The Role

As an Evaluation Frontend Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our AI development lifecycle by creating tools that facilitate the visualization and analysis of large language model (LLM) evaluations. Your primary responsibility will be to develop intuitive, efficient, and insightful visualizations and statistical tools that allow researchers and engineers to compare, analyze, and interpret model performance metrics stored in a centralized database. This role requires a blend of frontend development expertise, statistical understanding, and familiarity with machine learning evaluation processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, data scientists, and backend engineers, to surface meaningful insights that inform model improvements and strategic decisions. Your work will directly impact the way our team assesses model performance, enabling data-driven decisions that accelerate innovation. The ideal candidate will have experience in building interactive dashboards, possess strong programming skills, and have a keen eye for data visualization and statistical analysis. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with offices located in London, Paris, Toronto, San Francisco, and New York, allowing you to work from anywhere while being part of a dynamic, innovative team.

Qualifications

  • Extremely strong software engineering skills
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
  • Prior experience in building front-end visualization systems and dashboards
  • Strong statistical skills and experience evaluating scientific experiments related to data collection and model performance
  • Familiarity with machine learning system evaluations
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Publication record or contributions to top-tier conferences or journals such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AIStats, MLSys, JMLR, AAAI, Nature, COLING, ACL, EMNLP (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets and model evaluation metrics

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop visualization tools and dashboards that enable researchers and engineers to compare and analyze hundreds of model evaluations efficiently
  • Implement statistical tools to extract meaningful signals from noisy evaluation data
  • Collaborate with research and engineering teams to understand evaluation needs and translate them into effective visualizations
  • Develop an understanding of the relative strengths and limitations of various model evaluation metrics and suggest new evaluation facets
  • Maintain and improve existing evaluation tools, ensuring scalability and usability
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary discussions to refine evaluation methodologies and visualization strategies
  • Stay current with advancements in data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning evaluation techniques

Benefits

  • Inclusive and open culture fostering diversity and collaboration
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI research with a talented team
  • Weekly lunch stipend, in-office lunches, and snacks
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a dedicated mental health budget
  • 100% parental leave top-up for up to 6 months
  • Personal enrichment benefits covering arts, culture, fitness, well-being, and workspace improvements
  • Remote-flexible work environment with offices in Toronto, New York, San Francisco, London, and Paris, plus a co-working stipend
