Birda's app lets users keep a record of what they saw during their birding session. Besides learning about the fascinating world of birds, they can effectively help protect biodiversity, by simply sharing a birds location on the platform, users can help science to obtain the vital data they need to preserve thousands of bird species.

🪶 Role

We're looking for an experienced Product Engineer that wants to help people connect with nature through our mobile apps (React Native), and through birdwatching. With a clear focus on user experience and delivery efficiency, and always keeping platform quality and performance in mind.

Birda is a dynamic start-up-like environment. So, be ready to deal with ambiguity, widen your scope full-stack, but also collaborate in product ideation, prioritization, analytics, and even marketing. Whatever it takes to generate real impact to our users; and to our planet!

Required

  • Senior with Javascript / Typescript
  • Senior with React and React Native
  • Senior with Node
  • Experience with distributed architectures

Desirable

  • Experience with Next.js
  • Experience with GraphQL + Apollo
  • Experience with Styling (CSS or Tailwind)
  • Experience with pub/sub architectures

🪽 Location

  • Fully Remote
  • Within a one-hour window of the UK time zone

  • Base salary range £50-70k

Hiring process

  1. Apply!
  2. First conversation. A 30-45min call with Alvaro, the Head of Engineering and hiring manager. He will go through the company mission, structure and engineering culture, and let you introduce yourself also.
  3. Technical interview. A quick vanilla JS live coding session (without AI assistance) followed by an open technical conversation. We are interested on your general mental framework to solve problems with code.
  4. Cultural fit. A conversation with people from the Product, and leadership teams. You can use this space to know more about the business and product approach (also about birds) as well as evaluating the cultural match with your potential stakeholders.
