Auxo is hiring a Staff Android Developer for a fast growing fitness technology company delivering remote 1 on 1 personal training through a mobile and wearable driven platform.
This role owns the entire Android and WearOS ecosystem. You will lead architecture, strategy, and execution while still delivering hands on, high quality engineering. You will also contribute to iOS and watchOS development, collaborating closely with the mobile team to define shared patterns and long term mobile direction.
What You Will Do
- Own architecture, development, and long term strategy for Android and WearOS applications
- Lead Kotlin and Compose development with strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and offline behavior
- Drive best practices, coding standards, and mobile engineering excellence across Android
- Build and optimize WearOS companion experiences that are central to the product’s differentiation
- Contribute to iOS and watchOS features and infrastructure in Swift and SwiftUI
- Collaborate with mobile teams to design shared abstractions and cross platform patterns
- Identify and resolve high impact technical issues across mobile, backend integrations, and data flows
- Influence the evolution of the mobile architecture as the platform scales to hundreds of thousands of users
- Partner with product and design to ship features quickly without compromising quality or maintainability
Who You Are
- 7 plus years of experience building and scaling Android applications
- Expert in Kotlin and modern Android development (Compose)
- Strong experience building WearOS apps or other wearable platforms
- Comfortable operating at a Staff level with deep architectural ownership
- Able to contribute to iOS and watchOS development in Swift and SwiftUI (++Nice to have)
- Track record of solving complex technical problems across mobile and backend integrations
- Exceptional execution speed paired with strong engineering fundamentals
- Ownership driven, proactive, and able to thrive in a small high performing team
- Passionate about building technology that improves fitness and health outcomes
Nice to Have
- Experience scaling mobile products to large user bases
- Background in fitness, coaching, wearable technology, or health tech
- Experience in startups with high ownership and fast iteration cycles
