About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Angular/NodeJS Developer to join our dynamic team remotely. This full-time role is integral to supporting and enhancing our cloud-based healthcare web applications, specifically focusing on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions. The successful candidate will work within the Veterans Affairs (VA) department, collaborating with cross-functional teams including back-end developers, data engineers, and clinical stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities will include building, maintaining, and migrating web dashboards, developing RESTful APIs, and ensuring seamless integration across various platforms and services. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical healthcare infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy, security, and performance in a fast-paced Agile environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on back-end technologies such as Java and/or NodeJS, along with front-end experience in Angular. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required. Proven expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, especially within healthcare or enterprise environments, is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience working with structured healthcare data including EDI X.12 medical claims and familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards. Cloud experience, particularly with AWS services like API Gateway, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently or within a team, and U.S. Citizenship are mandatory for this position. Formal certifications are not required, but a background in healthcare data standards and DevOps practices will be advantageous. Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for developing and supporting a cloud-based web dashboard that processes healthcare EDI transactions. Your tasks include designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs in Java and NodeJS that efficiently retrieve, transform, and serve healthcare records in XML or JSON formats. You will integrate these APIs with internal platform services, EDI processing pipelines, and data repositories to ensure reliable, real-time data delivery. Supporting and enhancing an Angular-based front-end dashboard will be a key aspect, involving API consumption, component development, and UI/UX improvements to facilitate accurate data presentation to clinical and business users. You will collaborate closely with back-end engineers working with C#/.Net and AWS data engineers to establish clear API contracts and ensure data consistency across systems. Writing clean, testable, and well-documented code is fundamental, along with performing unit and integration testing to uphold code quality standards. You will support deployment activities, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues in production environments on AWS. Applying Agile methodologies, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews will be integral to your workflow. Additionally, you will leverage version control tools like Git and GitHub to manage codebases collaboratively, ensuring best practices for branching, pull requests, and documentation are followed. Benefits SSG offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our employees' well-being and professional development. As a full-time employee, you will have access to competitive salary ranges, health insurance options, and retirement plans. We promote work-life balance through flexible remote working arrangements and encourage continuous learning through training opportunities and certifications.
