Job Description

Posted on: December 7, 2025

Our client is an innovative technology company building intelligent software that empowers organizations to communicate more effectively, operate efficiently, and make data-informed decisions.

The Manager of AI Engineering will define and lead the vision, strategy, and execution of AI initiatives across our product ecosystem. You’ll build and guide a talented engineering team, drive technical excellence, and ensure that every AI feature delivers measurable impact and real-world value. This role combines strategic foresight with hands-on leadership. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to bring responsible AI solutions to life and you’ll play a key role in shaping how our technology evolves in the years ahead.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Set clear goals, provide continuous feedback, and support professional development through reviews, coaching, and technical guidance.
  • Build a high-performance environment that encourages experimentation, learning, and long-term technical mastery.
  • Define and execute a scalable AI strategy that aligns with organizational goals and enhances user experiences across multiple product lines.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to identify opportunities for AI integration that improve automation, personalization, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of responsible AI innovation.
  • Serve as the bridge between engineering, product management, design, and leadership teams.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes that drive alignment and momentum.
  • Foster strong communication and coordination across disciplines to ensure clarity of vision and smooth execution.
  • Oversee project prioritization, timelines, and delivery of AI-powered features with a focus on quality, security, and performance.
  • Remove blockers, balance resources, and ensure consistent, timely progress toward milestones.
  • Promote best practices in AI observability, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in the architecture, design, and implementation of production-ready AI and machine learning systems.
  • Ensure adherence to modern standards for data security, model ethics, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Advocate for clean code, strong testing practices, and a quality-first mindset across the team.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven success leading teams that deliver AI/ML, GenAI, or LLM-based systems at scale with high availability and low latency.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern AI development frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LiteLLM, Langfuse, or similar).
  • Experience in Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
  • Experience applying techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and cost optimization in production environments.
  • Background in designing and deploying large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Deep understanding of agile principles and experience facilitating agile processes.
  • A growth mindset, passion for developing people, and enthusiasm for building innovative, ethical AI systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure); cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate emerging AI trends and position teams and products for long-term success.
  • Experience balancing strategic priorities with technical execution in high-growth environments.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • You’ll shape the direction of AI for a product suite used at scale.
  • You’ll lead a team that blends technical depth with creative problem-solving.
  • You’ll have the autonomy to innovate while working closely with talented peers across disciplines.
  • You’ll join a culture that values curiosity, clarity, and excellence in both people and technology.
