WordPress Web Developer

This role is focused on ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing maintenance of an established WordPress and WooCommerce website for a seed company. The position is ideal for a web developer with a strong background in WordPress site management, plugin coordination, and routine content updates. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the website secure, up to date, and functioning optimally. There will be an initial handover period with the current web developer to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities. This is a remote, on-call position suited for someone seeking a long-term engagement. Deliverables

• Perform regular updates to WordPress core, themes, and plugins to maintain site security and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
• Coordinate and manage plugin installations, updates, and compatibility
• Conduct occasional content updates as requested
• Communicate with the current web developer during the transition period to understand existing workflows and site structure
• Monitor website uptime and address any disruptions promptly
• Provide recommendations for improvements or optimizations as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience managing and maintaining WordPress and WooCommerce websites
• Strong understanding of website security, plugin management, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with content management and basic HTML/CSS
• Ability to work independently and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration and transition coordination
• Reliable internet connection and availability for on-call support
• Experience with long-term website maintenance preferred
