Location: Leeds – Remote First
The Opportunity:
The UK's #1 Digital Solution Provider seeks an influential Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in healthcare data interoperability to support a complex data transformation project for a Public Health Organisation.
Key Requirements:
- FHIR Expertise: A strong understanding of Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) for healthcare data mapping, transformation, and interoperability.
- Healthcare Interoperability: Experience with other interoperability standards, such as HL7, CDA, or DICOM, can substitute for FHIR knowledge.
- Broader Interoperability Skills: Knowledge of managing and integrating healthcare data across various systems and standards.
- Software Development: Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python with a strong background in software development.
- Large-Scale Data Processing: Skilled in developing and deploying large-scale data processing solutions using platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Databricks.
- SQL Expertise: Proficient in SQL and extensions for analytical queries, with a solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and design patterns.
- Data Processing Knowledge: Understanding distributed data processing frameworks, data storage solutions, and serialisation formats, including potential challenges.
- Code Quality & Testing: Experienced in writing high-quality, testable code with automated testing, and applying CI/CD practices effectively.
- Performance Optimisation: Expertise in performance tuning and complex data transformations.
- Data Visualisation & Streaming: Familiarity with data visualisation tools and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, CDC products).
- Continuous Improvement: Strong commitment to driving continuous improvement and contributing to data best practices.
Benefits Package:
- Base Salary: Up to £85,000 (DoE)
- Bonus: 10% per annum
